DESCRIPTION: Sunday, November 3 is Food Bank Sunday and preferred items include: cans of tuna, sardines, vegetables, tomato sauce, soup, as well as chickpeas, kidney beans, dry pasta, cereal and snacks for children. Boxes are located at church entrances for your contribution. The Heron Emergency Food Centre (HEFC) is very appreciative of all donations. Monetary donations, which are tax-deductible, are crucial to support the ever increasing numbers of individuals and families who rely on HEFC\'s service. Every dollar donated is used to purchase food over and above what they receive from the Ottawa Food Bank, often including fresh vegetables and fruit, or special dietary food needs.
