Music

Music plays a central role at Rideau Park United. Choral and instrumental – please check out our Music Ministry.

Spirituality

Rideau Park provides a number of ways in which to experience and enhance your sense of spirituality. The Rideau Park Healing Pathway Ministry is a United Church program that develops the skills and gifts of healing hands within the Christian tradition, and fosters development of healing ministries in congregations and other communities.

Groups to Join

Rideau Park can seem like a big community where it is difficult to get to know people. One way of feeling more connected is to join a smaller group of people who share a common interest or experience. Speak to our minister or the church office if you would like to find a small group that matches your interests.

At Rideau Park, we have a commitment to share our faith with others in the community by modelling Jesus’ love and acceptance. The Social Action Outreach committee oversees a variety of programs and partnerships with other social agencies, but the Christian Development Committee, UCW, Scouts, Girl Guides, Sunday School and other church groups also engage in projects benefiting the community and the world.

Ways to make a difference in the community

We partner with:

  • Heron Emergency Food Centre (HEFC)
  • the Banff Avenue, Blair Court, Russell Heights, and Confederation Court Community Houses
  • Alta Vista Community Association
  • South East Ottawa Community Health Centre
  • the Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI)

Through the United Church of Canada, and the Mission and Service Fund, we engage in global ministry with church partners in Canada and around the world. Our Mission and Service Fund givings provide emergency assistance in natural disasters, support schools and hospitals in underprivileged areas, interfaith dialogue and peacemaking in times of war.

UNITED CHURCH WOMEN (UCW): Please refer to the UCW flyer available in the Sanctuary (and online) for a description of the functions of the UCW, or contact our UCW President, Nancy Begg-Durkee, at ucw@rideaupark.ca.
