Healing Pathway is a United Church program that develops the skills and gifts of healing hands within the Christian tradition, and fosters development of healing ministries in congregations and other communities.  Rideau Park has its own Healing Pathways ministry and is currently offering healing sessions on Thursday afternoons between 12:30 and 2:30 pm.  For further information or to make an appointment, send an email to healingpathway@rideaupark.ca, or speak to Brian Neal or Sharon Sanderson.

We pray with our hearts and our minds, but we can also pray with our hands.  Healing Pathway practitioners are trained to invite God’s love and healing energies to flow through their hands for the highest good of the receiver.

Following in the tradition of Christian healing that Jesus taught to his disciples, Healing Pathway is a healing ministry started by the United Church of Canada in 1993.  It is grounded in strong ethics, a Christian tradition of energy-based healing (laying on of hands), and a formal training and development program for the practitioners who are all volunteers.

Rideau Park has an active Healing Pathway Ministry that normally includes prayer stations during communion, short drop-in sessions in the Chapel once a month, weekly appointment sessions in the Meditation/Healing Pathway Room (B9), and an outreach program. You can also access healing prayer through distance healing, which is a form of prayer that recognizes that we are all One in the Spirit, the Source of All Life, and do not actually need to be in the same room. We can be physically distant from each other, and still share the gift of healing.

Each Sunday morning, you can join a Healing Circle after watching the live-streamed worship service. It will start at 11:15 am and run for about ten minutes. For the instructions, including the link to the YouTube video, click here: Healing Circle Instructions.

You may also book an appointment for an individual healing session. To book an appointment or for more information, email us at healingpathway@rideaupark.ca.

How Does It HelpA Healing Pathway session of healing prayer may:

  • Facilitate healing after injury, surgery or an illness
  • Help prepare for a surgery
  • Provide relief from pain, including chronic pain
  • Speed recovery from cancer treatments
  • Provide comfort and spiritual support in times of stress
  • Promote well-being on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual

How Does It WorkA Healing Pathway session facilitates the natural healing process through the power of prayer in combination with energy-based healing techniques applied by trained practitioners.  Their intention is to be fully present with the receiver in God’s unconditional love, and this opens the door for whatever healing is needed.  “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” – Mathew 18:20

Appointments:  In a typical session, two or more practitioners work with the person receiving in a private setting.  The receiver can be sitting or lying down.  The practitioners never work alone, unless a family member can be present during the session.  There are no fees.

Did You Know…

  • You do not have to be a member of the Rideau Park congregation to receive healing prayer.  Anyone can make an appointment.  Healing Pathway is a ministry which includes outreach into the local community.
  • When mobility is a problem, Healing Pathway practitioners can occasionally come to the home, hospital or rehab centre, for example when someone is recovering from surgery.
  • There is no charge to book an appointment and receive healing prayer.  If desired, donations to the program can be made through the church.
  • Healing Pathway does not replace traditional medicine and other health care.  Healing Pathway complements traditional medicine and other health care by working at the energy level to expedite the healing process and the natural ability of the body to heal itself.
  • Appointments are typically made in one hour time slots to allow for 30-40 sessions.  Shorter appointments are also available in half hour time slots for 10-20 minute sessions.
