Here is everything you need to know about Rideau Park’s upcoming Christmas Treasures Bazaar!

When: The Bazaar itself takes place on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 1-4pm

Where: Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa

What to Expect: Admission to the bazaar is free; bring your own bags and shop until you drop! Following are some of the items for sale.

  • Books, Christmas décor, handmade crafts, houseplants, kids and teens toys and games
  • Fine china, linens, purses, gloves, hats, tablecloths, sewing and knitting, jewelry
  • Kitchen everything! Small appliances, house décor, lamps, clocks
  • Baked goods, jellies, jams, preserves, frozen turkey pies and frozen meals we have been cooking up all fall
  • The famous Rideau Park Tea Room – $12 will get you delicious sandwiches, squares and, of course, tea!

How to Participate:

  • Volunteer! It takes a LOT of help to run this event – all of the area conveners are in place and posted in the office and the bulletin board so contact the convener of the area you want to help out in and get signed up. Want to sell house plants? Books? Serve tea? Can you help with donation drop off? Greet people at the door? We have jobs for everyone and, yes, for teens we can sign off on those volunteer hours.
  • Bake! We need baking to sell and baking to serve. Items for the Bake Table should be dropped off in the Parlour on Friday, October 31, 9am-4pm, or until 11am on Saturday, November 1. Those Tea Room plates won’t fill themselves so whip up some homemade baked squares (uncut pans of light and dark squares, e.g. date, lemon and chocolate) and drop them off in Beecroft Hall on Saturday morning.
  • Donate! This is the Christmas Treasures Bazaar so we need your treasures – see “What to Expect” above for ideas – we’ll take it all. Donation drop-off times are as follows: Wednesday, October 29, 9am-8pm; Thursday, October 30, 9am-8pm; and Friday, October 31, 9am-4pm.
  • Show up! Don’t forget to share with all your family and friends and come out to support Rideau Park.

Tickets for the Tea Room will be available during coffee hour after the service on October 12, 19, and 26. Cost is $12 per ticket.

Why: This is your one stop shop to buy local and Canadian! Support your community by supporting our biggest fundraiser of the year. Green up your Christmas shopping and save the planet by purchasing treasures that have been previously loved but still have lots of life left. Raise your pinky and sip a cup of tea with your neighbours in the Tea Room. Your generosity helps Rideau Park continue to offer many programs that support our community. All are welcome here and the more the merrier.
