2026 Summer Zoom Book Study – God is Not One, Stephen Prothero
“What the world’s religions share is not so much a finish line as a starting point.”
That starting point is ‘there is something wrong with the world’.
“They part company, however, when it comes to stating just what has gone wrong, and they diverge sharply when they move from diagnosing the human problem to prescribing how to solve it.”
For example, in Christianity, the problem is sin; the solution (or goal) is salvation. In Buddhism, the problem is suffering; the solution (or goal) is nirvana;
Join us as we explore how different religions describe the problem, the solution, techniques for moving to the solution, and those who lived this path from problem to solution.
Wednesday evening, 7-8:30 pm Eastern time, July 8- August 26/26. You can join the conversation from home or cottage or anywhere you have internet. Please register with the office.
