On Sunday, April 26 at 3pm, Pro Organo Ottawa is pleased to present organist Valerie Hall in recital here at Rideau Park. This performance, as part of the exciting series of four Pro Organo recitals in its 2025-2026 season, is dedicated to the memory of Rideau Park United’s long-serving and well-remembered organist and choir director, Dianne Ferguson (1934-2022).
Dianne was an accomplished musician: pianist, organist, and director of adult choirs, children’s choirs, and handbell choirs. She had a long musical career in both Alberta and Ontario, culminating in her years at Rideau Park United. Dianne was an active and valued member of the Royal Canadian College of Organists, Ottawa and Edmonton Centres, and, in 2007, received the RCCO Distinguished Service Award.
As Dianne Ferguson was organist at this church for many years and promoted Canadian music all through her career, Valerie Hall’s recital will honour her memory by featuring a program of Canadian music, the sounds of the True North [Strong and] Free.
